Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the weather data come from?

We use official data from the National Weather Service (NWS), the same source used by TV meteorologists. This ensures you get accurate, reliable forecasts for Jefferson County.

How accurate is the traffic data?

Traffic conditions are powered by TomTom, using real-time data from GPS devices and sensors. Conditions update every few minutes, but actual road conditions may vary.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Make sure notifications are enabled in both the app (Settings → Notifications) and your iPhone's Settings (Settings → Blue Ridge Weather → Notifications). Also check that you haven't enabled Focus mode or Do Not Disturb.

How do I change my username?

Your username cannot be changed once it has been set. Choose carefully when you first sign up.

Is the app available for Android?

Currently, Blue Ridge Weather is only available for iPhone (iOS). We may consider Android in the future based on community interest.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, or contact us at support@blueridgeweather.app. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your posts and data.

How do I report inappropriate content?

Tap the flag icon (🚩) on any post or comment and choose a reason (Spam, Inappropriate, or Misinformation). Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours and removes content that violates our guidelines.

How do I block another user?

Tap the flag icon (🚩) on any of that person's posts or comments and select "Block User." You will no longer see any posts or comments from anyone you've blocked.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Location is used only to show weather for your specific area and traffic on nearby roads. We don't track your location continuously or share it with anyone.
